Meet Your Trainers

Makenzie Marzluff

Co-Founder of KAKAO and KAPU - the App. Speaker and Coach to Conscious Entrepreneurs. Founder of DELIGHTED BY Desserts. Soon to be published author of How To Lead A Badass Business From Your Heart, debuting early 2021.

Makenzie has been facilitating cacao ceremonies for over three years, across many countries, and was one of the first to bring true ceremonial-grade cacao to the Western world. She is known best for her ability to keep it real in ceremony, to share her vulnerability no matter who is listening, and to tell you what she is really thinking.

Aydin Rahmi

Master Gong Practitioner, Certified Sound Healer. Founder of Rhythm Infused and Chief Guardian of KAKAO Australia & New Zealand. Aydin's ceremonies and offerings incorporate sound, meditation, crystals, cacao and moon cycle/planetary energies.

Ellie Seilern

Reiki Master, Certified Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls Practitioner and Arcturus Quantum Energy Healer. Chief Guardian of KAKAO Europe. Ellie's private and group ceremonies weave in various practices and modalities: sound healing, study groups, and aromatherapy.

Michael McPherson

Writer. Co-Founder of KAPU the App and KAKAO. Soon to be published author of Everything You Never Learned About Sex, debuting in early 2021. Michael coaches men in the topics of romantic union, healing sexual trauma and shame, sacred sexuality and embodied masculinity.

Michael has been leading plant-medicine ceremonies across the globe since 2017 and is best known for his Presence that invites others forward, his ability to soothe your heart through his assuring words, and his radical authenticity.

Joy Saavedra, Guest Trainer

Joy is on the Board of Directors for KAKAO 501c3 non-profit, a Cacao Ceremony Facilitator, an incredible full-time mother and a leader in her community.

Joy brings people together from ALL walks of life for cacao ceremony, even those not on the 'spiritual path.' She also leads virtual and in-person ceremonies for her extended family members and even holds cacao ceremonies for children! Joy is incredible at introducing people to cacao in a way they can understand, which is needed today more than ever.

Program Inclusions:
  • 3 Opening Ceremonies via Zoom Video (also will be recorded) where you fully participate and observe our various facilitating styles
  • Easy-to-follow online course with recorded content and written resources.
  • Prerequisite work before program start date of May 1st
  • Self-paced program to complete in as little or as long as you'd like.*
  • Interactive engagement with other participants in comments/forum
  • Unlimited access to your hosts for questions via comments/forum
  • Bonus content on Sound Healing, Essential Oils and Leading Your Business
  • 3 Closing Graduation Ceremonies via Zoom Video (also will be recorded) where you fully participate and observe our various facilitating styles.
  • Accountability to step into your leadership: you will be required to log 90+ hours of personal study/sitting with cacao on your own, plus 8+ group ceremonies before receiving your final certificate. Must be completed within 6 months of graduation.**
  • Upon graduation, you will receive a Certificate issued by KAKAO Ceremonial Drinking Chocolate via email.


*It is highly recommended that you complete all modules of the program before the closing ceremonies on May 30th.

** Due to the current restrictions on in person gatherings. If you are more guided to holding face to face ceremonies and quarantine is not lifted in your location in a timely manner, there will be flexibility in extending the 6 month window for completion of ceremonies.

You will receive Google calendar invites to all ceremonies.


Upon completing the course, you will be required to log 90+ hours of personal sitting/study with cacao and lead 8+ group ceremonies within 6 months of graduation in order to receive your Certification.*

*Hours can be back-logged, meaning if you've been sitting with cacao daily for over 3 months, and have already led group ceremonies, these logged hours will count towards your Certificate.
